A coordinated effort by Queensland’s State Flying Squad (SFS) has concluded a week-long intensive operation in South Brisbane, resulting in multiple arrests and charges. The operation, which involved 11 police officers and two intelligence officers, was aimed at bolstering local law enforcement capabilities and addressing a surge in criminal activities in the area.

Throughout the deployment, which also included the Public Safety Response Team (PSRT) and other specialist units, the SFS successfully charged 21 individuals with a total of 93 offences. These charges ranged from unlawful entry and motor vehicle misuse to burglary, theft, and drug-related offences. A significant arrest was made at an Acacia Ridge residence, where authorities confiscated cocaine and apprehended a 30-year-old man on multiple charges. He is set to appear in Richlands Magistrates Court in early March.

Adding to the operation’s success, a 17-year-old male, who had been eluding police by hiding in a roof, was apprehended. He faces a series of charges, including the unlawful use of motor vehicles and burglary, and is expected to appear in Richlands Children’s Court later in March.

Detective Inspector Joe Nixon highlighted the operation’s effectiveness, attributing the positive outcomes to the synergistic efforts of local and specialized police units. According to Nixon, the SFS is committed to enhancing community safety by focusing on repeat offenders and employing strategic intelligence to identify and respond to crime hotspots throughout Queensland swiftly.

The Queensland Police continue to encourage the public to report any suspicious activities or information through their dedicated channels, including Policelink and Crime Stoppers.
