Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and French President Emmanuel Macron coordinated their positions ahead of a meeting of leaders from the Coalition of the Willing in Paris, according to Ukraine’s presidential office. During their meeting on Jan. 6, Zelenskyy congratulated Macron on the start of France’s presidency of the Group of Seven and thanked him for organizing the coalition gathering. The leaders discussed the diplomatic situation, cooperation with the U.S. negotiating team and upcoming talks with international partners. They also focused on Ukraine’s air defenses amid continued Russian missile and drone attacks. Zelenskyy outlined Ukraine’s need for additional air defense systems and interceptors. Zelenskyy said continued support for Ukraine remains important while Russia has not taken steps toward peace.
