Ukraine Bolsters International Ties

In a series of diplomatic engagements, Ukrainian officials have been active on the international stage, spearheading discussions and collaborations with key European nations and beyond. On October 15, 2025, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Ihor Zhovkva, met with Anne-Marie Descôtes, Secretary General of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France. The meeting aimed to synchronize the positions of Ukraine and France ahead of the crucial European Council meeting scheduled for October 23.

The discussions between Zhovkva and Descôtes followed a strategic phone call between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and French President Emmanuel Macron. This interaction underscores a strengthening alliance between Ukraine and France, as both nations prepare for significant dialogues within the European Council, which could influence future policy directions and cooperation frameworks.

On the same day, furthering Ukraine’s diplomatic outreach, President Zelenskyy discussed the outcomes of the recent summit in Sharm el-Sheikh with the Prime Minister of Greece. The summit marked a significant advancement towards peace in the Middle East, with both leaders emphasizing the importance of maintaining and building on this momentum.

In addition to these high-level political engagements, the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, marked International White Cane Day by visiting a rehabilitation center for veterans who have lost their sight. The visit highlighted the ongoing support for veterans, focusing on their rehabilitation through advanced training in orientation, mobility, Braille, and the use of technology tailored to their needs.

These events collectively reflect Ukraine’s proactive approach in fortifying international relations and addressing global and domestic challenges through diplomacy and direct engagement.
