Samsung Electronics has announced a series of advanced security and privacy updates set to debut with its upcoming Galaxy smartphones featuring One UI 8. These updates aim to enhance mobile security by introducing protections for on-device artificial intelligence (AI), expanding cross-device threat detection, and bolstering network security with quantum-resistant encryption.

Central to these innovations is the Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP), a new framework designed to secure AI-powered features. KEEP facilitates encrypted, app-specific storage environments, ensuring that each application only accesses its own sensitive data. This system supports the Galaxy’s Personal Data Engine (PDE), securing user insights for features like Now Brief and Smart Gallery search, all fortified by Knox Vault’s hardware security.

Samsung’s One UI 8 also advances the Knox Matrix, a proactive security feature for connected Galaxy devices. This system ensures greater transparency and user control, automatically signing out of Samsung Accounts during serious threats and notifying users across their devices. Additionally, Secure Wi-Fi is enhanced with post-quantum cryptography to protect data in public networks, preparing for future quantum computing threats.

These updates exemplify Samsung’s commitment to evolving mobile security with innovation, reinforcing on-device privacy, user control, and future-proof protection. The enhancements are part of Samsung’s broader effort to maintain user trust and data integrity as technology and security challenges advance.
