Ukraine, Germany Unite Against Russian Propaganda

In a significant diplomatic engagement, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Ihor Zhovkva, met with a German delegation led by Nathanael Liminski, Minister for Federal, European, International Affairs and Media of North Rhine-Westphalia. The meeting, held on June 8, 2025, focused on bolstering efforts to counteract Russian propaganda within Germany and across Europe.

Discussions during the meeting addressed the Kremlin’s aggressive narrative promotion and emphasized the need for a coordinated European response. Both parties expressed their commitment to enhancing cooperation to effectively counter misinformation campaigns and ensure the stability of democratic societies.

The dialogue also touched upon the broader security situation in Ukraine, acknowledging Germany’s pivotal role in providing financial, humanitarian, economic, and military support. North Rhine-Westphalia’s support for the Dnipro region was highlighted as a model for regional partnership, with significant investments aiding in rapid recovery and encouraging further German business collaboration in Ukraine.

Additionally, the meeting explored opportunities to expand economic and military-technical cooperation and discussed Ukraine’s ongoing European integration efforts. Ihor Zhovkva reiterated Ukraine’s dedication to fulfilling EU membership conditions, underscoring the importance of a united Europe inclusive of Ukraine.
