In a recent statement, Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, highlighted the continued support from the United States for Ukraine amidst ongoing tensions with Russia. Speaking during the United News telethon, Yermak discussed the Ukrainian delegation’s meetings with U.S. officials, including members of President Donald Trump’s administration, the State Department, and Congress.

The delegation’s visit to the United States was aimed at solidifying relations and setting the stage for an upcoming meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President Trump at the G7 Summit in Canada, scheduled for June 15-17. A significant focus of these discussions was on sustaining military assistance to Ukraine, with Yermak noting a shared understanding of the need to continue support.

Yermak also emphasized Ukraine’s anticipation of the U.S. Senate passing a bill to enhance sanctions against Russia. The proposed sanctions aim to curb Russia’s energy export revenues, particularly from oil, and introduce secondary restrictions on entities aiding Russia in circumventing existing sanctions. “The process that should begin in the Senate next week will be a very important signal,” Yermak stated, underscoring the critical nature of these legislative efforts in weakening Russia’s economic standing.
