In a significant operation against property crime, Townsville police have charged nine individuals with multiple offenses over the past week, underscoring the Queensland Police Service’s commitment to community safety.

Acting Inspector Phil Watts emphasized the department’s round-the-clock efforts to deter and investigate property-related crimes. “We are focused on holding property crime offenders to account,” Watts stated. “This includes relentlessly pursuing serious repeat offenders who endanger the community through dangerous driving and other acts.”

The charges span a range of offenses, including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, fraud, and theft. Among those charged is a 28-year-old Mount Louisa woman, accused of unlawful vehicle use, scheduled to appear in court on July 9. Similarly, a 44-year-old Heatley man faces charges of fraud and drug possession, with a court date set for July 7.

Several individuals, including minors, have been remanded in custody, with court appearances scheduled throughout July and August. These arrests involve members of the Tactical Crime Unit, Property Crime Unit, Dog Squad, and General Duties officers, all working collaboratively to disrupt criminal activities across Townsville.

The Queensland Police encourages anyone with information on criminal activities to contact Policelink or report anonymously via Crime Stoppers.
