Police in South Burnett have charged three teenage boys in connection with a series of property and vehicle offences that occurred over a four-day period. The incidents took place in various locations in Murgon, resulting in property damage, theft, and assaults. The first incident occurred on May 29, where a group of teenagers attempted to break into a property on Douglas Street in Murgon. They then moved to a neighboring property, where they used a garden ornament to gain entry, threatening a 76-year-old man inside before fleeing the scene unharmed. Subsequent break-ins on May 31 led to further property theft and an assault on a 25-year-old man. The offenders also stole a vehicle and caused damage to properties and vehicles in the area. The police investigation resulted in the arrest of three teenagers, aged 13 and 15, who now face multiple charges including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, trespass, arson, and armed robbery. The teenagers are scheduled to appear in various children’s courts for their alleged crimes.
