The arrest was made on May 4, 2025, as part of Operation Victor Harlow, which scrutinized the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death initially deemed non-suspicious. Queensland Police Service informed “NewsroomWorldwide” that the accused, currently a resident of Thailand, was apprehended during a visit to Brisbane. According to police, both the suspect and the 54-year-old victim, a Warner woman, were kayaking near Forgan Cove when she allegedly fell into the water and drowned. Despite efforts by witnesses and emergency services to revive her, she was declared deceased at the scene. The case, led by detectives from the Petrie Criminal Investigation Branch, evolved into a murder investigation following a detailed coronial inquiry and input from various experts.
