Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Tab S12 series, introducing the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+ with upgraded processors, large AMOLED displays and integrated artificial-intelligence features. The tablets are scheduled to launch in select markets on Oct. 7. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra features a 14.6-inch display and measures 5.1 millimeters thick, while the Tab S12+ has a 12.6-inch screen. Both use 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels with peak brightness of up to 1,600 nits, support IP68 water and dust resistance, and include an S Pen. Samsung said the devices will run Android 17 with One UI 9. Powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 processor, the tablets are designed for demanding tasks such as video editing, graphics work and multitasking. Samsung said the new processor delivers improvements of up to 61% in neural-processing performance, 19% in CPU performance and 17% in GPU performance compared with the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. Battery life is rated at up to 23 hours for the Ultra and 21 hours for the Tab S12+ under specified testing conditions. The new models include Galaxy AI tools for note-taking, research and productivity, as well as access to features from Google and Samsung. Adobe Photoshop will be preloaded on the tablets, while additional software and trial offers will vary by market.
