A 27-year-old man has died after being struck by a vehicle in Cairns North on September 5, Queensland police said. The crash occurred on McLeod Street at about 9:50 p.m. Police said the pedestrian, from Westcourt, sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and sole occupant of the grey Toyota Corolla, a 40-year-old Redlynch man, was not physically injured. The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash. Police are asking anyone with relevant information or vision of the incident to contact Policelink or provide information anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
