A 24-year-old man has been charged following an alleged armed robbery in Beenleigh, Queensland, on August 27. Police said a 48-year-old man was assaulted while inside his vehicle in a Boundary Street car park at about 11 p.m. The alleged offender reportedly stole the victim’s car keys and cash before leaving the scene. Officers from Springwood, assisted by the Logan District Dog Squad, located and arrested a man a short time later on Beverley Street. Police allege the man was carrying a knife and ammunition when arrested. He faces charges including armed robbery, assault occasioning bodily harm, wilful damage, attempted entry to premises with intent to commit an indictable offence, possessing a knife in a public place, and lacking authority to possess explosives. The alleged victim was taken to Logan Hospital with a minor injury. The accused was remanded in custody and is due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on October 21.
