Queensland police have charged a 13-year-old boy following an alleged wilful damage incident at an educational facility in Flying Fish Point, near Innisfail, on August 30.

Police allege the boy entered the Maud Street facility at about 11:30 p.m. and caused major damage to infrastructure and equipment, including approximately 20 classroom windows.

The boy, from Currajah, was located nearby and arrested shortly afterward. He has been charged with wilful damage, trespassing, obstructing a police officer, and entering premises and committing an indictable offence.

He is due to appear before the Innisfail Children’s Court on August 31. Police cited reference number QP2601698399 in the release.
