Pair Charged After Ipswich Evade

Queensland police have charged a 23-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman with a combined 57 offences following an alleged attempt to evade officers in Brassall, Ipswich, on May 20.

Police said officers attended a Parcell Street address about 5pm to speak with the pair in relation to property offences in Ipswich and Brisbane. The man and woman allegedly entered a black 2008 Ford Territory and reversed through a gate before leaving the property.

The vehicle was tracked by POLAIR through several suburbs before police deployed a tyre deflation device at Goodna. It later stopped at the intersection of Alice and Newman streets, where the woman was arrested. The man was arrested shortly afterwards after allegedly leaving the vehicle, attempting to enter two other vehicles and climbing over a fence.

Police allege the pair were involved in property and vehicle offences across Kangaroo Point, Tarragindi, Muirlea, Coorparoo and Leichhardt between February and May. The Brassall man faces 41 charges and the woman faces 16 charges. Both are due to reappear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on June 11. Investigations are continuing.
