Zelenskyy Outlines Ukraine’s June Priorities

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has approved long-range action plans for June, highlighting continued military efforts, expanded sanctions and preparations for an updated economic strategy. The initiatives were outlined in a series of presidential announcements dated May 19, 2026.

In an address, Zelenskyy said Ukraine’s position had improved during the month, citing the country’s ability to hold more positions and inflict greater damage. He also called for the creative expansion of Ukraine’s long-range sanctions, saying previous measures had demonstrated their effectiveness.

Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska also attended the opening of the “Ivan Marchuk. Museum Collections” exhibition. The president congratulated the artist on his anniversary and praised his work for inspiring Ukrainians and presenting the country’s cultural identity internationally.

Ukraine has also begun preparations for the reburial of Colonel Andriy Melnyk and his wife, Sofia. Zelenskyy described the couple as respected Ukrainian figures of the 20th century and said the country had both the opportunity and moral duty to bring them home.

Separately, the president chaired an online meeting of the International Advisory Group on Investment Attraction and Economic Development. Participants discussed “Economy of the Future,” a comprehensive strategy for Ukraine’s economic transformation, with the Presidential Office expected to coordinate work on an updated economic plan.
