A Silkstone man has been charged with 16 offences following alleged property crimes across Brisbane, Queensland Police said. The 18-year-old was arrested after a stolen vehicle was involved in a crash on the Centenary Highway on May 13. Police allege the man stole a Mitsubishi Pajero from Coughlin Street, Silkstone, after 11 p.m. on May 10. The vehicle was allegedly involved in a traffic crash at about 11 a.m. on May 13, with the man arrested at the scene and issued a notice to appear. Further investigations allegedly linked him to break-and-enter offences at a residence in Morningside, two residences in Salisbury, two in Sunnybank Hills and another on Beaton Street, Coopers Plains, between May 11 and 14. The charges include five counts of attempted nighttime entry to a dwelling with intent while in company, four counts of receiving tainted property, three counts of entering a dwelling and committing an offence, and two counts each of entering premises with intent and breaking into premises to commit an indictable offence. Bail was refused, and the man remains in custody. He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on June 9.
