Queensland police have charged a 16-year-old boy following investigations into alleged property offences and stolen vehicle incidents in Castle Hill and other Townsville-area suburbs. Police allege that three suspects in a stolen red Kia Cerato and a stolen blue Volkswagen Amarok attempted to enter several properties on Gilbert Crescent at about 7 a.m. on May 11. A 16-year-old from Vincent allegedly entered one property and stole a white Audi RS E-Tron. Investigators further allege the teenager was involved in break-ins at North Ward, Mount Louisa, Annandale and Townsville City between April 16 and May 13. He was located in Pimlico during the early hours of May 13 and has been charged with 14 offences, including unlawful use of motor vehicles, stealing, entering a dwelling, driving without a licence and dangerous operation of a vehicle. The teenager was refused police bail and was due to appear in Townsville Children’s Court on May 14. The investigation is part of Operation Yankee Forge, a statewide Queensland Police initiative targeting high-harm and high-volume offences, including vehicle theft and unlawful entry.
