Queensland police have charged a 40-year-old Brassall man after allegedly seizing cocaine, MDMA, cannabis, methylamphetamine and more than $200,000 in cash during a search in Ipswich. Ipswich Criminal Investigation Branch detectives, assisted by Gatton detectives and the Darling Downs Tactical Crime Squad, executed a search warrant at a Tranquillity Circuit property about 7:45 a.m. on April 1. Police said they found approximately 7 kilograms of cocaine, 1 kilogram of MDMA, a large quantity of cannabis, a small amount of methylamphetamine and electronic devices, scales and other drug paraphernalia. The man was arrested at the scene and charged with multiple counts of possessing and trafficking dangerous drugs, as well as possessing items allegedly used in the commission of a crime, property suspected to be obtained from trafficking and drug utensils. He was due to appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on April 2. Detective Inspector Mick Manago said the seizure demonstrated police efforts to disrupt the supply of illicit drugs in the Ipswich district. Investigations remain ongoing.
