A 28-year-old Coombabah man has been charged with rape, child sex offences and distributing child exploitation material following an investigation by Queensland Police. He was arrested in Edens Landing on January 6 and was expected to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on January 7. Police said detectives from the Argos unit investigated the distribution of child exploitation material, with assistance from POLAIR and the Logan District Criminal Investigation Branch. The man faces three counts of rape, four counts of indecently dealing with a child under 16, one count of distributing child exploitation material and two counts of committing indecent acts. Detective Acting Inspector Scott Ballantyne said identifying children who may have been victims and removing them from harm were key outcomes of the investigation. He said police and partner agencies continued to share intelligence to identify people using online platforms to conceal criminal activity.
