A 31-year-old Point Vernon man has died after being struck by a vehicle in a traffic crash on Murphy Street on the evening of August 25, Queensland Police said. The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the incident. Police said a 2001 Subaru Liberty was travelling along Murphy Street at about 6:20 p.m. when it struck the man. He sustained critical injuries and was declared dead at the scene. The Subaru’s 24-year-old male driver and 24-year-old female passenger, both from Eli Waters, were not physically injured. Investigations remain ongoing, and police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant information or vision of the crash to come forward.
