Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned that the greatest danger facing Ukraine is not fatigue among troops but the world becoming accustomed to the country’s war with Russia. Speaking at the National Prayer Breakfast, he urged international leaders to maintain their support and continue drawing attention to the conflict. Zelenskyy said the event brought together people from different churches, political backgrounds and nationalities around shared calls for truth and peace. He thanked Ukrainian chaplains and clergy for supporting soldiers and civilians, noting that churches and religious facilities have also served as shelters, warming centers and classrooms during the war. The president said Ukraine had endured accumulated pain and exhaustion but continued to preserve its humanity, mutual support and national unity. He argued that unity was essential to achieving what he described as a lasting and strong peace, and called on attendees to remember Ukrainians held in captivity, those serving on the battlefield and civilians affected by the conflict. More than 1,500 people attended the breakfast, including 670 foreign guests from 17 countries. Participants observed a moment of silence for those killed in the war. Zelenskyy also urged foreign representatives to visit Ukraine, speak more about the conflict and provide further assistance.
