Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said decisions will be made to expand the authority of experienced commanders as Kyiv reviews military operations along key parts of the front.

In an address published Aug. 17, Zelenskyy said he had met with military officials and the defense minister to discuss the battlefield situation. He identified the Slovyansk sector, Kostiantynivka and the Pokrovsk area as priorities for additional organizational measures and resources.

The president said the changes are intended to strengthen the capabilities of Ukrainian units and improve operational decision-making. He did not provide further details about the planned command structure or the resources involved.
