Ukraine’s recovery plans, tourist safety and efforts to attract investment were discussed during a meeting in Kyiv between Ihor Zhovkva, deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, and Shaikha Nasser Al Nuwais, secretary-general of UN Tourism.

The meeting took place on Aug. 16, 2026, according to the Office of the President of Ukraine. The visit marked Al Nuwais’ first trip to Ukraine since 2016.

The talks focused on the role of tourism in Ukraine’s recovery, measures to ensure the safety of visitors and opportunities to draw investment to the country’s tourism sector.
