A 22-year-old Heatley man has been charged with 14 offences following an alleged police pursuit and crash in Rosslea, Townsville, on August 11. He was remanded in custody after appearing in Townsville Magistrates Court on August 13. Queensland Police said officers attempted to intercept a black Ford Territory on Stuart Drive, Idalia, at about 9:40 p.m. The driver allegedly evaded police before officers later located the vehicle at a Love Lane address in Rosslea, where it allegedly reversed into a police vehicle and fled. The man was arrested outside a Fulham Road address in Heatley at about 4:50 p.m. on August 12. The charges include evading police, failing to stop at a red light, driving uninsured and unlicensed, damaging an emergency vehicle, endangering police, possessing dangerous drugs and possessing drug utensils. Police also charged him with allegedly using registration plates assigned to another vehicle, receiving tainted property, driving a defective vehicle and failing to comply with obligations following a crash.
