Two Charged After Stolen Vehicle Raid

Queensland police have charged two men after investigating the alleged theft of a Toyota Landcruiser and locating multiple stolen vehicles at a property in Alberton. The investigation began after a vehicle was reportedly taken during a test drive at a Brendale business on August 8.

Police allege a 38-year-old Bridgeman Downs man fled in the silver Landcruiser after attending the business on South Pine Road. Officers later executed a search warrant at an Alberton Road property, where the allegedly stolen vehicle rammed a police car. No injuries were reported, and two men were found inside the Landcruiser.

Officers allegedly located four other stolen vehicles, including a BMW, Ford Ranger, Audi RS and another Toyota Landcruiser, along with a box trailer. Police also reported seizing a taser, drugs and drug-related utensils. The vehicles were allegedly stolen from locations in Parkinson, Cornubia, Bahrs Scrub and Holland Park between May and August.

The Bridgeman Downs man faces charges including damaging an emergency vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and possessing dangerous drugs. A 49-year-old Regents Park man has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of a category R weapon and possessing drug utensils or pipes. Investigations remain ongoing as part of Operation Yankee Forge, a statewide initiative targeting vehicle theft and other high-harm offences.
