Two Charged After Ningi Driving Incident

Queensland police have charged a man and a woman following an investigation into alleged dangerous driving at Ningi on the night of August 12. Officers received multiple reports about a white Holden Commodore being driven dangerously along Browns Road at about 11 p.m.

Police allege the vehicle swerved towards a marked police car travelling eastbound on Bribie Island Road, forcing officers to take evasive action. The vehicle was later intercepted after stopping in bushland near Browns Road, and both occupants were taken into custody.

A 27-year-old Park Avenue man faces multiple charges, including endangering police while driving, dangerous operation of a vehicle, driving while affected by an intoxicating substance, drug possession, obstructing police and driving an unlicensed, uninsured and unregistered vehicle. Police said a search of the vehicle allegedly found a large knife, knuckle dusters, drugs and drug utensils. The man was due to appear in Caboolture Magistrates Court on August 13.

A 20-year-old Mount Morgan woman was charged with stealing, possessing a knife in a public place, unlawful possession of weapons, three counts of possessing dangerous drugs and eight counts of possessing drug utensils. She is due to appear in Caboolture Magistrates Court on August 25. The charges remain allegations unless proven in court.
