Seven teenagers have been charged with murder following the death of a 27-year-old man who was allegedly assaulted and robbed in Kelvin Grove, Brisbane, last month. Queensland Police said the charges were upgraded after the man died in hospital on August 6. The man was allegedly attacked by a group of teenagers on Victoria Park Road shortly before 10:30 p.m. on July 24. Police said the group stole his blue 2025 BYD Shark 6 and fled before emergency services arrived. The vehicle was found abandoned the following morning in Holland Park. The seven teenagers, aged between 14 and 17, had previously faced charges including grievous bodily harm, robbery in company and dangerous operation of a vehicle. Police said each was charged with an additional count of murder on August 13 and was expected to appear before Brisbane Children’s Court. Investigators are appealing for witnesses, CCTV and dashcam footage from Kelvin Grove Road near Musk Avenue between 8:10 p.m. and 8:40 p.m., as well as footage from Victoria Park Road and Holland Park West. Police are also seeking two potential witnesses: a driver of a dark-coloured SUV seen near Victoria Park Road around 10:16 p.m. and a driver of a blue sedan seen on Carroway Street at the same time.
