Queensland police have charged a 28-year-old Margate woman following an alleged armed robbery at a business in Clontarf on the night of August 11. Police said the woman entered the business at the corner of Angus Street and Elizabeth Avenue at about 8:45 p.m., allegedly armed with a knife. She is accused of threatening staff, stealing several items and fleeing the scene. Officers intercepted the woman shortly afterward at a park on Hornibrook Esplanade, where an altercation allegedly occurred. One police officer sustained minor injuries. The woman has been charged with armed robbery, serious assault of a police officer and four drug offences. She was due to appear in Redcliffe Magistrates Court on August 12.
