Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud on Aug. 10, as Kyiv seeks to strengthen ties with countries it considers security partners, according to the Ukrainian presidential website.

The website provided no further details about the discussion. The call was described as part of Zelenskyy’s ongoing contacts with Ukraine’s allies and partners.

In a separate address later that day, Zelenskyy said Ukrainian forces had struck another facility in Russia’s oil-refining industry. He identified the site as being in Tobolsk, Siberia, more than 2,500 kilometers away, and said further long-range strikes would demonstrate to Russia that peace was necessary.
