A 30-year-old driver has died after a multi-vehicle crash on Hervey Range Road in Townsville on August 8, Queensland Police said. The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the incident. Police said the driver was travelling in a Mazda 3 sedan shortly after 11:30 a.m. when the vehicle lost control, crossed onto the incorrect side of the road and collided with a Toyota LandCruiser utility and a Nissan Patrol station wagon. The Mazda driver sustained critical injuries and was declared dead at the scene. The 55-year-old driver of the Toyota, from Vincent, suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital for assessment. The Nissan driver, a 56-year-old woman from Rangewood, and her 59-year-old passenger were not physically injured. Investigators are asking anyone with relevant dashcam or CCTV footage to contact police, quoting reference QP2601536887.
