Four men have been charged with murder following the death of a 21-year-old man who was seriously assaulted in Bahrs Scrub, Queensland, last month. The man, from Redbank Plains, died in hospital on August 1 from injuries sustained during the incident.

Police were called to Discovery Boulevard at about 2:15 a.m. on July 26 after reports of a large disturbance involving a group of people. Officers found several damaged vehicles and a nearby residence with significant damage before locating the injured man on Orchard Avenue. He was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in critical condition.

Detectives from the Logan Criminal Investigation Branch and the Homicide Investigation Unit executed 14 search warrants across the Logan, South Brisbane and Ipswich police districts on August 6. The operation led to the arrests and charges of men aged 18 and 19 from Collingwood Park, MacGregor, Doolandella and Inala.

A 22-year-old Heathwood man was separately charged with contravening an order concerning information necessary to access electronically stored information. All five men were due to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on August 7. The investigation remains ongoing.
