A 68-year-old Maroochy River man has been charged with multiple firearm and drug offences after Queensland police allegedly seized weapons, ammunition and drugs during a property search on August 7. Sunshine Coast District Criminal Investigation Branch detectives executed a search warrant at the Maroochy River address at about 7:30 a.m. Police said they allegedly located four firearms, four silencers, ammunition, explosives and a quantity of dangerous drugs. The man faces six counts of unlawful possession of weapons, two counts of unlawful possession of shortened firearms, and one count each of unlawful possession of explosives and possession of dangerous drugs. He is scheduled to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on August 27. Police have urged anyone with information to contact Policelink or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
