Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte discussed efforts to secure additional interceptor missiles for Ukraine during a phone call on Aug. 5, according to the Ukrainian president’s office. Zelenskyy said Ukraine was coordinating with international partners capable of supplying the missiles, which are used to defend against Russian missile and drone attacks. The discussion also covered the broader situation in Ukraine and recent large-scale Russian strikes targeting civilian areas and infrastructure. The leaders coordinated outreach to countries with available missile systems and the capacity to provide assistance. Zelenskyy urged partners to accelerate political decisions and reduce administrative delays, saying the speed of support was directly linked to the safety of civilians. He thanked Rutte for working to help secure the necessary supplies. Post navigation Ukraine, UK Seek Stronger Defence Cooperation Ukraine Seeks Missile Defense Support
