Samsung has introduced intelligent eyewear as part of its vision to make artificial intelligence a more natural, wearable interface for mobile devices. The glasses were unveiled at Galaxy Unpacked in July 2026 and are designed to work alongside Galaxy smartphones and other connected devices.

James Choi, executive vice president and head of Samsung Electronics’ XR Research and Development Team, said the product combines cameras, microphones, speakers and mobile AI capabilities to provide hands-free assistance. Potential uses include real-time guidance, live translation, contextual support and recording content from the wearer’s perspective.

Samsung said the eyewear was engineered with lightweight materials, slim hinges, thermal-management features and computational design intended to improve comfort and fit. The company also reported conducting durability and environmental testing involving heat, humidity, cosmetics, sunscreen, sweat and repeated hinge movement. According to Samsung, the glasses can provide up to nine hours of active use, while the charging case supports more than seven full recharges.

Privacy features include external and internal LED indicators that signal when recording is active, automatic recording deactivation when the glasses are removed and a safeguard that disables recording if the external indicator is blocked. Samsung said user audio, video and screen-sharing data will not be used to train AI models. Availability and features may vary by market, compatible devices, applications and local regulations.
