NASA will showcase its newest wind tunnel at the agency’s Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia, during a media tour and ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 31. The Flight Dynamics Research Facility is NASA’s first major wind tunnel built in more than 40 years. The event will include a media availability with NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman, NASA Langley Center Director Trina Dyal and U.S. General Services Administration Administrator Edward C. Forst. The event will be held in person, with additional timing details to be provided closer to the date. The facility is expected to support research and technology development across NASA’s aeronautics, exploration and science programs. The agency said its work could contribute to long-term goals under the Artemis program, including establishing a sustained human presence on the Moon and developing a lunar base.
