Teen Charged After Slacks Creek Robbery

Queensland police are investigating an attempted armed robbery at a tobacconist in Slacks Creek after three offenders allegedly entered the store and one presented a firearm. No one was injured and no items were taken during the incident on July 21.

Police said the offenders arrived at the Kingston Road business about 10:40 p.m. in a Ford Falcon sedan reported stolen from Bridgeman Downs on July 18. The vehicle was later found abandoned on Jacaranda Avenue, Kingston, after the group allegedly fled into nearby bushland.

Following a foot pursuit, officers arrested a 17-year-old Inala boy who was allegedly carrying a knife and wearing a balaclava. He has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, obstructing police and possessing a knife in a public place. He is due to appear at Beenleigh Children’s Court on July 27.

Detectives from the Logan Criminal Investigation Branch are continuing efforts to identify and locate the two outstanding suspects.
