Queensland police are investigating an armed robbery in Kuraby after a man was assaulted and a van stolen during an overnight incident on July 20. Police said a group stopped a 28-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman in their van near the intersection of Stiller Road and Beenleigh Road between 11 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Two people allegedly approached the vehicle, assaulted the man and took his keys. The man sustained minor injuries, while the woman was not physically injured. The offenders allegedly fled in the victims’ white 2025 Hyundai Staria, Queensland registration 122NV7, accompanied by two other vehicles. Initial reports indicate one offender may have been carrying a sword. Detectives are investigating whether the robbery is linked to reports of people attempting to break into vehicles and a property on Outlook Place in Kuraby, as well as a break-in on Camaro Street in nearby Runcorn.
