Two teenagers have been charged following an alleged armed robbery at a business on Balaclava Road, Earlville, on the night of July 20, Queensland Police said. Police allege the 16-year-old and 17-year-old entered the business at about 7:30 p.m. and threatened a staff member with a knife and scissors before removing a cash drawer and fleeing on foot. Officers from the Cairns Criminal Investigation Branch located the pair at an address in Mooroobool at about 10:30 p.m. and took them into custody. Each was charged with armed robbery in company with violence. The teenagers were refused bail and were scheduled to appear before the Cairns Children’s Court on July 21.
