Police in Queensland have charged a 47-year-old man from Avenell Heights following his alleged involvement in a violent robbery that occurred in Norville. The incident took place early in the morning on July 11, at the intersection of Ritchie Street and Thabeban Street. According to the Queensland Police Service (QPS), at approximately 6:20 AM, the accused allegedly approached a vehicle, assaulted the 71-year-old driver, and forcibly took a screwdriver from him. The elderly victim sustained minor injuries during the ordeal. The suspect now faces multiple charges, including entering premises with intent to commit an indictable offence, deprivation of liberty, robbery using personal violence, and possession of a knife in a public place. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on July 13. In light of these events, the police are urging anyone with information, or who may have CCTV, dashcam, or mobile phone footage from the area during the time of the robbery, to come forward.
