A severe e-bike accident in Wynnum on the evening of July 9 has left a young man in critical condition and sparked a call for witnesses by the Queensland Police Service (QPS). The incident involved a collision between a 19-year-old e-bike rider and a BYD Shark utility vehicle near Claymeade Street and Sandy Camp Road.

The impact of the crash resulted in critical injuries for the e-bike rider, who was promptly transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital. The occupants of the Shark, a 43-year-old driver and his two teenage passengers, reported no physical injuries from the event.

The QPS Forensic Crash Unit has taken charge of the investigation and is actively seeking any eyewitnesses or individuals with dashcam footage of the crash.
