Detectives from the Redcliffe Child Protection Investigation Unit (CPIU) are urgently requesting the public’s assistance following the arrest of a 50-year-old man from Deception Bay. The man faces multiple charges related to child sexual offenses and drug-related crimes, following incidents that reportedly occurred in Brisbane City and Redcliffe areas. The Queensland Police allege that the individual approached two young girls, ages 15 and 13, on separate occasions near Roma Street railway station. He is accused of traveling with them by train to Deception Bay, where the alleged offenses took place on June 9 and June 28. The suspect has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Caboolture Magistrates Court on July 29. Acting Senior Sergeant Kate Mitchell of the Redcliffe CPIU expressed deep concern over the nature of the allegations and highlighted the possibility of additional unidentified victims. The community is urged to come forward with any relevant information, no matter how minor it may seem, to aid in the ongoing investigation. For those affected by similar incidents or who have information about occurrences in the mentioned areas, the police encourage contacting them directly or through their online and telephone reporting services. In emergencies, the public should call Triple Zero (000). Confidential support and counseling are available through the State-wide Sexual Assault Helpline and other resources.
