Brisbane Crime Spree Unraveled

Two individuals were arrested early Friday morning following a tumultuous evening of criminal activities that included vehicle thefts and break-ins across Brisbane, as reported by Queensland Police.

Late Thursday night, a distressing incident unfolded in Grange, where a 27-year-old food delivery driver from Bowen Hills became a victim of car theft. The culprits, driving a previously stolen red Mercedes-Benz GLC250, approached the delivery driver, briefly interacted with him, and subsequently hijacked his white Skoda. Both cars were then driven away from the scene.

The police pursuit involving POLAIR culminated when the Skoda was abandoned at a Moorooka carpark, and the driver switched to a white Kia. The quick response from the police included the deployment of a Tyre Deflation Device, bringing the Kia to a halt and leading to the arrest of a 33-year-old man from Annerley. He faces charges including unlawful use of a motor vehicle and possession of counterfeit money.

Later that same evening, another distress call was received from Baron Street, Greenslopes, concerning an attempted home invasion. The stolen Mercedes was found parked outside the residence, and a 31-year-old man from Annerley was detained at a nearby licensed venue. He has been charged with multiple offenses including dwelling break-in and drug possession.

Both suspects are scheduled to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today. Queensland Police continue their investigation and have urged the public to come forward with any relevant information.
