A man was shot by police during a confrontation in Woodhill, Queensland, on the night of June 26, following a welfare check gone awry. The Queensland Police Service (QPS) confirmed the incident occurred when officers, responding to a call at around 9 PM on Caswell Road, were confronted by an armed 41-year-old local man.

According to the police report, the man advanced towards the officers with a firearm, prompting them to discharge their weapons. The individual was subsequently shot and immediately received first aid from the responding officers before being airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital. He is currently in a stable condition.
