In a recent address, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that over 9,500 individuals have been liberated from Russian captivity since the onset of the full-scale conflict with Russia. This year alone has seen the repatriation of 1,596 Ukrainians, with ongoing efforts expected to continue.

President Zelenskyy highlighted the successful negotiation efforts and offensive operations on the frontlines which have facilitated these returns. He expressed profound gratitude towards the negotiation teams and every unit contributing to the “exchange fund,” which helps bring Ukrainians home. The President also underlined the importance of reintegrating and supporting returnees, ensuring they receive necessary medical treatment and addressing their social needs.

Parallel to these efforts, Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko reported on the outcomes of a significant conference in Gdańsk, where Ukraine secured 160 agreements totaling over €10 billion, primarily focusing on energy and regional recovery. These agreements are part of broader resilience plans for the summer, aimed at bolstering Ukraine’s communities amid ongoing conflict.

As Ukraine prepares for the upcoming NATO Summit in Ankara and engages in multiple diplomatic efforts, President Zelenskyy reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to enhancing air defense and anti-ballistic capabilities. He thanked international partners for their support and emphasized the ongoing implementation of sanctions against Russia, urging a move towards diplomacy to end the war. “Glory to Ukraine!” the President concluded, signaling ongoing resilience in the face of adversity.
