Police in Queensland are intensively investigating a series of coordinated break-and-enters that struck several neighborhoods in South Brisbane and Logan in the early hours of June 26, 2026. The incidents involved a group of masked offenders who executed multiple burglaries and stole vehicles, escalating concerns about local security. The crime spree began around 12:23 am when police were alerted to masked individuals in the Heathwood area. Shortly thereafter, a house on Aspen Street was broken into, and a 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross was stolen. The situation escalated at around 12:45 am in Runcorn, where an armed attempt to enter a Barcoo Street residence was thwarted, resulting in the suspect fleeing in the previously stolen Mitsubishi. The series of crimes continued with a break-in at a Royal Esplanade, Manly residence around 1:16 am, where a physical confrontation occurred between the intruders and a 49-year-old male occupant, who sustained a minor injury. The offenders fled in the stolen Mitsubishi, which was also used in subsequent burglaries at Eight Mile Plains and Daisy Hill. The spree culminated with the theft of a 2020 Skoda Kodiaq from Shailer Park just after 3 am. Queensland Police, with the cooperation of the Bayside and Upper Mount Gravatt Criminal Investigation Branches, are urging the public to come forward with any information. They are particularly interested in details that could lead to the recovery of the stolen vehicles and the apprehension of the suspects involved in these incidents. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activity to Policelink or Crime Stoppers, ensuring anonymity for those who wish to provide information without disclosure. The investigations are ongoing, and the police are hopeful that community cooperation will lead to a swift resolution to this troubling series of crimes that have shaken the local community.
