Police are urgently seeking help from the public following a hit-and-run incident that occurred in Buderim on June 19, 2026, which resulted in an elderly woman being injured.

At approximately 5:34 PM, a pedestrian, an 81-year-old woman from Buderim, was struck by a vehicle while she was preparing to cross Townsend Street at a pedestrian crossing. The car, identified as an early 2000s silver Toyota Corolla hatchback with a distinctive black stripe, did not stop after the collision. It is reported that the vehicle continued eastward, briefly returned to the scene, and then sped off westward.

The victim was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with injuries that were determined to be non-life-threatening. The Forensic Crash Unit (FCU) of the Queensland Police Service is leading the investigation and has issued an appeal for the driver to come forward.
