A tragic road incident occurred on Kennedy Highway near Kuranda, resulting in the death of a 67-year-old man from Forsayth. The accident took place on Tuesday, around 3pm, when a silver Mitsubishi Pajero crashed into a stationary Fuso light truck at a roadworks site. The Queensland Police Service’s Forensic Crash Unit is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. The driver of the Pajero was critically injured and succumbed to his injuries after being airlifted to Cairns Hospital. A 72-year-old female passenger in the Pajero was also hospitalized as a precautionary measure. The driver of the light truck, a 49-year-old man from Cairns North, was uninjured. Authorities are now seeking assistance from the public, urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash or those with dashcam footage to come forward.
