Sunshine Coast Child Protection Investigation Unit (CPIU) detectives are seeking information from the public regarding a 21-year-old man from Caboolture South who has been charged with 28 sexual and property offences against children. The man allegedly committed these crimes over a period starting in 2022, with the most recent incident occurring in December 2024 at a campground in Landsborough.

According to police, the man was reported to have been looking into bathrooms occupied by children during an event at the campground. Further investigations revealed that he had been entering tents and stealing children’s underwear at the same location. It is alleged that he used his volunteer position as a group leader to gain access to children, committing offences against victims aged between 13 to 16.

On May 5, CPIU detectives executed a search warrant at the man’s residence in Caboolture, where they seized electronic devices and multiple pairs of children’s underwear for forensic examination. The man was subsequently arrested and charged with various offences, including enter dwelling and commit, incident treatment of children under 16, unlawful stalking, and observations in breach of privacy. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 16.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Grant Gleeson urged anyone with information or similar experiences to come forward, emphasizing the importance of reporting such incidents. He also encouraged parents and guardians to speak with their children about appropriate behavior and how to report any discomfort they may feel.
