In a recent announcement, Olena Zelenska, the First Lady of Ukraine, introduced a new guidebook aimed at supporting high school graduates as they prepare for the National Multitest (NMT). During an interview on the TV show “Snidanok z 1+1,” she detailed the creation and importance of the guide titled “Support for Everyone Taking the NMT,” developed in collaboration with the “12–21” mental support team. The initiative responds to the unique challenges faced by today’s youth, particularly the increased pressures of academic performance compounded by the ongoing stress of conflict in the region. Zelenska highlighted the significant stress exams impose on students, citing pressures from parents and teachers, alongside the inherent responsibilities and changes that come with graduating. The guide not only offers practical advice on psychological preparation but also resources for educators on how to support students effectively, recognize signs of stress or panic attacks, and foster a calm, constructive environment during exams. Zelenska encouraged both adults and students to utilize the guide, available on the “12–21” website, to ensure a calm and confident approach to testing and transitioning to new life stages. This resource is part of a broader effort to support mental health and well-being among Ukrainian youth amidst ongoing challenges.
