Since the onset of 2026, the Olena Zelenska Foundation has made significant strides in bolstering the energy resilience of Ukraine amidst ongoing conflicts by delivering 110 generators to various essential institutions, First Lady Olena Zelenska revealed. These generators, valued at over UAH 61 million, are distributed across educational, medical, and social care facilities, ensuring their operational continuity during power disruptions. In a detailed distribution, 62 generators have been allocated to schools and kindergartens primarily in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions, including the capital, Kyiv. The healthcare sector was not left behind, with seven high-capacity units deployed to ensure that medical services remain uninterrupted, especially in critical areas like Sosnytsia in the Chernihiv region. Social services facilities, including geriatric, support, and rehabilitation centers, received 16 generators. Additionally, efforts to support large foster families and community centers in regions like Dnipro, Kyiv, and Zaporizhzhia have been fortified with essential power supply units. The initiative is part of a broader collaboration with international partners such as the Türkiye-Ukraine Business Council, Black Sea Trade and Development Bank, and several foundations and companies across Europe. These partners have been pivotal in addressing the urgent need for uninterrupted electricity in critical public sectors. In her statement, Zelenska emphasized the critical nature of these contributions, highlighting that “For hospitals, educational and social institutions, this is not just about comfort – it is about safety, continuity of operations, and ultimately about people’s lives.” Looking ahead, the Olena Zelenska Foundation is preparing to further this mission with more deliveries slated for educational and healthcare institutions, continuing to build a framework of resilience against the backdrop of adversity.
